Green Soap, widely adopted as the industry’s standard tattoo wash, was originally engineered as a chemical floor cleaner and wasn’t designed with the body’s needs in mind. It was never intended for use on skin – particularly tattooed or healing skin. We’ve observed the glycerin and alcohol volumes in these other commonly used soaps directly react with adhesive bandages when not thoroughly rinsed away prior to the bandage’s application. In extreme cases, this has resulted in chemical burns and severely compromised the user’s healing process.
